Stamford Hospital
Stamford, CT

With a value of approximately $450 million, the New Stamford Hospital expansion project includes a 13-floor, 650,000 square foot hospital tower; a 33,500 square foot Central Utility Plant, and an underground pedestrian and utility tunnel linking the new facilities. The new tower includes 180 patient rooms, a Heart & Vascular Institute, expanded Emergency Department and Intensive Care Units, a Cancer Center, and Surgical Suites.

The Construction Manager, Skanska USA Building, retained TriLogix to

  • review, enhance, and maintain the Master Project Schedule,
  • prepare monthly schedule updates and status reports based on input from the Skanska team and subcontractors,
  • attend weekly project meetings,
  • prepare weekly updates for construction lookahead schedules,
  • lead multiple pull planning sessions to refine the scope and sequencing of the interior fit-out work,
  • assist with the development and implementation of recovery plans and overtime programs to successfully meet the new hospital opening date,
  • and develop additional schedule detail through meetings with the Skanska team, Stamford Hospital staff, and the hospital’s vendors to help coordinate delivery and installation of furniture, fixtures and medical equipment, and training of the hospital staff.

Skanska also retained TriLogix to develop and manage a separate schedule for the fit-out of the 5th floor space in the new hospital tower, occupied by the Hospital for Special Surgery. The TriLogix schedule was utilized from the bid process through construction of the space and, like the Master Project Schedule, included a detailed pre-construction schedule for coordination, engineering, and material procurement.
